Mostly Cloudy Young firefighters learn from the veterans at Fire Camp in Bethpage

Juniors and Explorers from 11 communities, including Baldwin, East Meadow, East Norwich, East Rockaway, Franklin Square, Glen Cove, Hewlett, North Bellmore, North Merrick, Point Lookout and Wantagh attended Fire Camp ‘Fahrenheit 516’ at the Fire Service Academy in Bethpage last month.
The camp program was designed by the Nassau County Junior Firefighter Association Board of Directors, the Nassau County Fire Service Academy staff and FSA instructors, Chief John Brown and Chief Robert Hughes. Campers receive hands-on training in firefighting techniques.
Vincent Morello, James Quaranto and Gregory Turovsky represented Hewlett at the camp.
