Archer Street School marked its 12th annual turkey trot on Nov. 26, continuing a tradition that brings students and staff together to support charitable causes. This year, the school selected SIBSPlace — a free therapeutic program for children ages 5 to 17 who have a sibling or parent with cancer or another serious illness — as the beneficiary.
Through the community’s efforts, the event raised $2,100 to assist the children and families served by SIBSPlace.
Throughout the turkey trot, students ran laps around the school, showing enthusiasm, teamwork and a clear commitment to helping others. Their efforts helped sustain what has become an important schoolwide initiative.
Principal Manouchka Daniel praised the students and staff for their involvement.
“Our students approached this year’s turkey trot with remarkable compassion and purpose,” she said. “Their support of SIBSPlace reflects the strong character, empathy, and sense of responsibility we strive to foster at Archer Street School.”
