Freeport Art Alcove presents the works of Harold Naideau

For the month of June, the Long Island Arts Council at Freeport and its Art Alcove, which is held in the Freeport Recreation Center, will feature assorted works from photographer and artist Harold Naideau.

Naideau, who predominantly uses still life photography, seeks to capture images that contain historical context and emotion that can be conveyed to viewers.

“I capture the movements and moments within the frame, in front of me,” Naideau says of his work. “Everything has been pre-determined within our subconscious mind. We struggle and attempt to control what we show to others and are constantly aware of the power and effect of this very powerful medium, photography.”

Naideau has compiled various photography series with diverse themes. One such series is “Americana,” aimed at capturing the “spirit, symbols and stories that define the nation’s identity.” He does this through photos of nature landscapes, American technology and architecture.

Naideau has also compiled a portfolio that offers historical aesthetics and is inspired by the works of artists from as far back as the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries.

Another intriguing portfolio is Naideau’s work with artificial intelligence. He says that all the images began with his original photographs, but then used AI technology to generate new artwork and produce “imaginative concepts” blending reality and fantasy.

Although there will be no reception for this month’s featured artist, all are invited to enjoy the display at the Art Alcove. More information about Naideau and his work can be found on his website, naideauphotography.com.
