The Bayview Avenue School of Arts and Sciences hosted its annual Grandparents Day this month, a beloved celebration that welcomed more than 100 grandparents to spend time with their grandchildren and join classroom activities.

Grandparents Day, celebrated by the school on Oct. 2, featured grandparents joining their grandchildren’s classes for 30 minutes. The senior guests shared some of their favorite stories, participated in a classroom activity and experienced special moments in their grandchildren’s school day.

“We were so excited to bring back Grandparents Day and welcome more than 100 grandparents into our school,” Bayview Principal Kelly Fairclough said. “It was wonderful to see the pride and excitement on our students’ faces as they shared their classrooms and school experiences with their grandparents. These special moments help strengthen the connection between our families and our school community.”

The celebration gave students and their grandparents an opportunity to create lasting memories while celebrating family, learning and the strong sense of community at the Bayview Avenue school.
