I am thrilled that National Night Out has become a cherished tradition.

Nassau County Legislature Debra Mulé is partnering with Freeport Mayor Robert Kennedy, the Freeport police and fire departments, several businesses, not-for-profit agencies and community stakeholders to host National Night Out 2026 at Freeport’s Bishop Frank O. White Memorial Park, also known as Northeast Park, on Tuesday, Aug. 4.

In pursuit of “police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live,” Thousands of communities have hosted National Night Out events on the first Tuesday in August.

For more than 40 years, the goal has been to enhance relationships between law enforcement and communities by bringing police and residents together in a fun and welcoming atmosphere.

“As someone who raised her children in Freeport and been active in the community for many years, I am thrilled that National Night Out has become a cherished tradition that strengthens, connects and forges authentic partnerships with the local first responders that keep us safe,” Mulé said. “It is wonderful once again to be working with our local partners in law enforcement, government and the community to bring National Night Out to Freeport, and I hope you’ll be a part of it!”
