Teddy Bear Clinic builds student confidence at Freeport's New Visions school

Posted

Students in New Visions Elementary School’s kindergarten class in Freeport recently took part in the annual Teddy Bear Clinic, an engaging experience designed to help young students become more comfortable with healthcare visits.

During the event, students brought their favorite stuffed animals to class and took on the role of caregivers, learning basic medical procedures in a fun and supportive environment.

Through interactive activities and demonstrations, they explored the importance of health, wellness and caring for themselves and others.

“Events like the Teddy Bear Clinic provide our youngest learners with meaningful opportunities to explore important topics in a way that feels safe, engaging and fun,” Principal Jessica Romero said. “By helping students understand what to expect during healthcare visits, we are building confidence, curiosity and positive habits that support their overall well-being.”

The Teddy Bear Clinic helped students become more comfortable with medical visits by encouraging them to ask questions and fostering positive experiences with healthcare.
