A 23-year-old man riding an electric scooter was killed in a collision with a Jeep Wrangler in Glen Cove on Wednesday evening, according to Nassau County police.
Police identified the victim as David Anthony De Jesus of Roslyn.
The crash occurred at 7:22 p.m. on Aug. 19 near Dosoris Way and Elliot Place. Detectives said De Jesus was traveling westbound when his e-scooter collided with a 2023 Jeep Wrangler driven by a 19-year-old woman.
De Jesus was taken to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead by hospital staff, police said.
No other injuries were reported.
The Nassau County Police Department’s Homicide Squad is investigating the crash. The investigation remains ongoing.
