Young anglers gathered at Pryibil Beach on Sept. 12 for the 2026 Glen Cove Mayor’s Snapper Derby, a family-friendly fishing competition hosted by the Glen Cove Anglers Club in partnership with the City of Glen Cove and Mayor Pamela Panzenbeck. The event welcomed children ages 6 to 16 to the waterfront for a morning of fishing, friendly competition and prizes. Held at the Pryibil Beach Fishing Pier, the derby offered participants an opportunity to spend time outdoors while enjoying one of Glen Cove’s longstanding waterfront traditions.
