For many North Shore families, putting food on the table can be a challenge. That’s where NOSH Delivers steps in. Operating out of James Donohue VFW Post 347 in Glen Cove, the nonprofit provides free groceries to hundreds of families each week through the support of volunteers, donors and community partners. Since appointing its first executive director in 2025, the organization has continued to grow while remaining committed to its mission of ensuring no neighbor goes hungry.

It serves hundreds of families across the North Shore

Founded during the COVID-19 pandemic, NOSH Delivers has grown into one of the North Shore’s largest food assistance organizations. The nonprofit serves hundreds of families each week throughout Glen Cove and surrounding communities, helping residents access fresh produce, pantry staples, meat, dairy products and other essential groceries.

Operating from James Donohue VFW Post 347, 15 Hill St. in Glen Cove, NOSH Delivers offers both pantry pickup and home delivery for residents who are unable to travel. The organization works with food banks, community partners, local businesses and individual donors to keep its shelves stocked and provide food assistance to those in need.

New leadership is helping guide its continued growth

In 2025, NOSH Delivers appointed Margaret Myhan as executive director, bringing new leadership to the organization as it continues to expand its services and reach more residents. Myhan oversees daily operations, volunteer coordination, fundraising efforts and community partnerships.
Volunteers remain the backbone of NOSH Delivers, helping sort donations, stock shelves, prepare grocery orders and deliver food to residents. The organization also relies on the generosity of local businesses, civic organizations and community members who provide financial support and donations throughout the year.

Residents can access food assistance throughout the week

NOSH Delivers operates several days each week to make food assistance available to local residents. The pantry is open Monday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.; Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and again from 5 to 7 p.m.; Wednesday it is closed; Thursday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.; and Friday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday availability follows the organization’s schedule, and the pantry is closed on Sundays.
Residents seeking assistance, looking to volunteer or interested in donating can visit NOSH Delivers at James Donohue VFW Post 347, 15 Hill St. in Glen Cove.
