A gas explosion in a Glen Head house caused a fire Thursday evening that led to extensive structural damage and prompted a large emergency response.
The fire broke out around 5:53 p.m. on Oct. 30 at a home on Cedar Swamp Road, according to Nassau County police. All residents were safely evacuated with no injuries reported.
Fire crews from the Glenwood Fire Department and nearby departments responded to assist in fighting the fire. The Nassau County Fire Marshal, the Arson Bomb Squad, and the Town of Oyster Bay also arrived on scene to assist.
Police said an initial investigation determined that the gas explosion occurred inside the home. The Arson Bomb Squad has launched an investigation.
