Masone Beach transformed into a Halloween celebration as the Village of Island Park hosted its annual Halloween Beach Bash and Trunk-or-Treat, bringing families together for an afternoon of costumes, candy and seasonal activities.
The festivities offered children and their families a variety of Halloween attractions, including beachfront hayrides, a petting zoo, pumpkin picking, pumpkin decorating and face painting.
The celebration began with the Halloween Beach Bash, followed by the Trunk-or-Treat, presented by the Island Park Library in conjunction with Mayor McGinty, Deputy Mayor Graci and the village Board of Trustees.
Decorated vehicles added to the Halloween atmosphere, providing children with a festive setting to collect candy and show off their costume.
“The Halloween Beach Bash is one of our favorite traditions of the year,” McGinty said. “This is truly a great event for the community that brings our community together creating lasting holiday memories for our local families.”
The annual celebration is part of the village’s efforts to provide family-friendly activities that encourage residents to gather and celebrate the season.
“Seeing our neighbors gather like this highlights the unique bond we share in Island Park,” Graci said. “It is an incredibly positive thing for Halloween, giving our residents a great opportunity to connect while putting the happiness of our kids first.”
With Masone Beach serving as the backdrop, the event also highlighted the village’s waterfront recreational spaces and their role in hosting community gatherings throughout the year.
“Our parks and beaches are the heart of this community, and Masone Beach provides the perfect backdrop for this celebration,” said Trustee Barbara Volpe-Ried, the village’s beach commissioner. “This event is all about bringing people together for a good thing, ensuring the kids of our community have a safe, joyful and unforgettable Halloween experience.”
