Students celebrate Earth Day through the arts

Kindergarteners at Lindell Elementary School in Long Beach have been learning about ecosystems in science and the importance of taking care of Earth, right in line with Earth Day last weekend. The kindergarten teachers collaborated with the music teachers who put together an Earth Day performance, which included songs about the sun and Earth Day decorations.

Parents and teachers gathered into the auditorium to see the performance, which filled the room with music.

As a culminating activity, students were given an at-home recycling project to build and create with their families. Students created posters, sculptures, and dioramas.

Their finished projects were displayed in the school’s cafeteria and presented as a “Museum Walk” after the Earth Day performance.
