The Village of Lynbrook’s proposed 2011-12 budget, coming in at about $33.5 million, is 3.6 percent higher than the current spending plan.
The tax rate for homeowners is expected to increase by a little more than 6 percent. Village Administrator John Giordano said that the increase is attributable to a reduction of village tax assessments.

The Hippo class, led my Miss Terri and Miss Rita of Intercommunity Nursery School, invited the children’s families to join them in a celebration of their “Exploration of Great Artists." The children and their guests had the opportunity to paint icing on cookies, craft paper mosaics, capture still life in drawings and to create pictures on the computer. The students also shared their special art books with the class. It was a morning filled with creativity and fun for all.
