East Rockaway High School’s Class of 2026 was recognized for its academic achievements and future plans during Senior Awards Night on June 15.

Held in the high school auditorium, the annual ceremony honored graduating seniors with scholarships and awards presented by faculty, staff and representatives of local organizations and memorial funds. Director of Guidance John Madden hosted the evening, as presenters recognized students for their accomplishments, leadership and contributions throughout their high school careers.

By the conclusion of the ceremony, more than $51,000 in scholarships had been awarded to members of the Class of 2026 through the generosity of community organizations, foundations and memorial scholarships.

Family members and friends filled the auditorium to celebrate the graduates ahead of commencement, which was scheduled for the following week. Organizers closed the evening by reminding students that they will always remain part of the East Rockaway school community with the message, “Once a Rock, always a Rock. Now go out and make us proud.”
