Long Island Community Chorus to perform spring concert in Lynbrook

The Long Island Community Chorus will present its spring concert, “Rhythms of America: A Musical Journey,” on Sunday, May 3 at 3 p.m. at St. James United Methodist Church in Lynbrook.

The performance will celebrate the upcoming 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence with a program highlighting American musical history. Audience members will also be invited to participate in a sing-along at the conclusion of the concert.

The chorus, a nonprofit community-based organization founded in 1984 and formerly known as the Rockville Centre Choral Society, includes about 40 members from across Nassau and Suffolk counties as well as Queens. The group is also a member of the Lynbrook Chamber of Commerce.

The concert will be held at 11 St. James Place. A suggested donation of $10 is requested, and children under 12 are admitted free.
