The Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary in Lynbrook turned music and laughter into support for a local cause during a dueling pianos fundraiser on Aug. 8 benefiting the Lindsey Rose Parke Foundation.
The foundation honors Lindsey Rose Parke, a 19-year-old Levittown firefighter who died in January after the vehicle in which she was a passenger crashed on Old Country Road. The fundraiser gave the Ladies Auxiliary an opportunity to support the foundation with a donation while bringing community members together for an evening of entertainment.
The dueling pianos performance featured a fast-paced, all-request show that mixed live music, comedy and audience participation throughout the night.
“It was an interactive, fast-paced, all-request comedy sing-along that got everyone clapping, singing and dancing,” Donna Ferrara, of the Knights of Columbus events team, said.
Guests joined in throughout the performance, turning the fundraiser into more than a traditional night of live music.
“It was truly a night of fun for a great cause,” Ferrara said.
Proceeds from the event allowed the Ladies Auxiliary to make a donation to the Lindsey Rose Parke Foundation in Parke’s memory.
