Members of the Lynbrook Fire Department were joined by local and state officials earlier this month as the department recognized Hon. Chief William McLaughlin for 50 years of service during its annual Installation Dinner.

The event was held May 9 at the Sand Castle in Franklin Square and brought together firefighters, elected officials and community members to celebrate McLaughlin’s longtime dedication to the department and the Lynbrook community.

Among those in attendance were Hempstead Town Supervisor John Ferretti, Hempstead Town Councilwoman Laura Ryder and Nassau County Receiver of Taxes Jeanine Driscoll, who congratulated McLaughlin on the milestone achievement.

Also attending the dinner were New York State Sen. Patricia Canzoneri Fitzpatrick and Anthony Capone, representing Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman.

The annual installation dinner serves as a celebration of the department’s members and leadership while recognizing firefighters for their years of service and commitment to the village.
