Lynbrook High School celebrated the graduation of the Class of 2026 during commencement exercises on June 26, as seniors officially joined more than a century of Lynbrook alumni.
Family members and friends gathered on the Marion Street School field as graduates processed in green and gold gowns before receiving their diplomas. Salutatorian Aidan Michaels encouraged his classmates to pursue their goals, telling them, “From now on, our lives are up to us, and that means our dreams are in our hands. It’s up to us to protect those dreams.”
Valedictorian Jack Murray reflected on the unique paths taken by each member of the graduating class. “That is the beauty of choosing your own adventure,” Murray said. “Each and every one of our paths was unique — and valuable for the uniqueness, not in spite of it.”
Principal Matthew Sarosy celebrated the Class of 2026’s accomplishments in academics, athletics and extracurricular activities, reminding graduates that commencement marked “another important first step” into the future. After each senior received a diploma, graduates turned their tassels and tossed their caps into the air, bringing their time at Lynbrook High School to a close.
