Lynbrook High School musicians earn NYSSMA All-State honors

Four students from Lynbrook High School have been accepted into this year’s prestigious NYSSMA All-State Music Ensembles.

Several Lynbrook High School students have been selected to participate in this year’s New York State School Music Association All-State Music Ensembles.

Ian Fishman and Lyla Gaffoor were selected to perform with the All-State Symphony Orchestra. Fishman will perform on violin, while Gaffoor will perform on flute.

Two additional Lynbrook students, Connor Buxton and Elias Vandoros, were named All-State alternates. Buxton was recognized for vocal performance, while Vandoros was selected as an alternate on double bass.

NYSSMA’s All-State ensembles bring together student musicians from across New York who are selected through the organization’s statewide evaluation process. Students chosen for the ensembles have the opportunity to rehearse and perform alongside other accomplished high school musicians from throughout the state.

The selections recognize the four students’ work in Lynbrook High School’s music program and their accomplishments as young musicians.
