Former Lynbrook resident Kristin Michaud, the daughter of longtime Lynbrook residents Kevin and Peggy Michaud, was recently sworn in as an associate justice of the Massachusetts Juvenile Court.
Michaud, a graduate of Our Lady of Peace School and Sacred Heart Academy, was nominated to the bench by Massachusetts Gov. Maura Healey. According to the governor’s office, the Juvenile Court’s mission is to protect children from abuse and neglect, strengthen families, rehabilitate juveniles and promote safe, stable homes for children.
Since 2021, Michaud has served as an assistant clerk magistrate at the Somerville District Court. Before that, she worked as a private attorney and mentor on the Children and Family Law Panel and previously served as an assistant district attorney in Middlesex County.
She earned her bachelor’s degree from Fairfield University before receiving her Juris Doctor from Northeastern University School of Law.
Her father is a retired Lynbrook Police Department inspector and former chief of the Lynbrook Fire Department, and her mother is a past president of the department’s Ladies Auxiliary. Michaud and her husband have two children.
