The Lynbrook Public Library will celebrate its history and longtime place in the community with the unveiling of a National Historical Marker next month.

Residents, local officials and library supporters are invited to attend the unveiling ceremony on Sunday, Oct. 18, at noon outside the library, at 56 Eldert St., at the corner of Eldert Street and Carpenter Avenue.

The ceremony will recognize the history and legacy of the library, which has served generations of Lynbrook residents as a place for learning, culture and community programs. The new marker will commemorate the library’s place in the village’s history while recognizing an institution that continues to serve residents today.

Library officials are inviting community members and friends of the library to gather for the unveiling and help mark the occasion.

The celebration will continue immediately afterward with a concert by the Paul Joseph Trio, scheduled to begin at approximately 12:30 p.m. The group will perform “The Great American Songbook in Jazz,” featuring jazz interpretations of selections from the American popular music tradition.

The unveiling offers residents an opportunity to celebrate both the library’s past and its continued role as a community gathering place in Lynbrook.

The National Historical Marker Unveiling Ceremony will begin at noon on Oct. 18 at the Lynbrook Public Library, 56 Eldert St. The concert will follow at approximately 12:30 p.m. The event is open to the public.
