Students from Lynbrook High School came together to support a local family following a house fire, organizing a community car wash fundraiser through the school’s Key Club.

According to advisor Dr. Ben Tieniber, the effort was organized quickly after students learned about the incident. The family has strong ties to the community, with two children involved in local activities, including Key Club and Lynbrook baseball.

Members of both groups worked together to plan and run the fundraiser, drawing support from across the community.

“It was a collaborative experience seeing Lynbrook High School baseball and Lynbrook Key Club coming together to help a family in need,” said Nolan Pearsall, a JV baseball player and Key Club treasurer.

Tieniber said the turnout reflected the strength of the community and the role service organizations play in bringing people together.

“It was great to see these two groups come together for a great cause,” he said.

The event displayed how students can make a meaningful impact through service, with many residents showing up to support the family during a difficult time.
