Downtown Lynbrook came alive on July 16 as classic cars, live music and families filled Atlantic Avenue for the first Summer Cruise Night of the season, after the July 9 opening event was canceled because of rain.
Held between Stauderman and Merrick avenues, the free event featured rows of classic, vintage and modern vehicles, and attendees enjoyed live entertainment, children’s activities and food and drinks from downtown restaurants and bars.
Residents and visitors spent the evening strolling through the displays and talking with car owners amid a festive atmosphere. The Thursday-night events also encourage attendees to support Lynbrook’s local businesses by shopping and dining downtown.
“The Lynbrook car show is more than a showcase of beautiful vehicles — it’s a celebration of community, bringing neighbors, families and visitors together while supporting our local businesses and hometown pride,” chamber President Michela Argento-Serra said.
Car owners displayed a wide variety of vehicles, from restored classics and muscle cars to custom builds and newer models, giving attendees plenty to admire throughout the evening.
A total of eight Cruise Nights were scheduled this summer. After the July 9 kickoff was canceled because of rain, the series continues every Thursday through Aug. 27.
