The Lynbrook School District is expanding its Universal Pre-Kindergarten program for the 2026-27 school year with the addition of a third site at Our Lady of Peace.
Superintendent Dr. Paul Lynch provided an update on the program during the Aug. 12 Board of Education meeting, announcing that the new location will join the district’s existing UPK sites as it prepares to welcome students for the new school year.
Enrollment in the program is also nearing capacity. Lynch told trustees that only two seats remained available as of the meeting, both of which are located at the JCC site.
“We have two seats left,” Lynch said. “Those seats will be at the JCC.”
The addition of Our Lady of Peace gives the district another location for its Universal Pre-K program as families prepare for the start of classes in September. The expansion comes as the district continues preparations across its schools and programs ahead of the first day of school on Sept. 2.
With registration nearly full, Lynch said the district is close to completing enrollment for the upcoming year.
The district will begin the 2026-27 school year Sept. 2, the same day the Board of Education is scheduled to hold its next monthly meeting at Lynbrook High School.
