Posted

Students at Lynbrook South Middle School donned ten-gallon hats and cowboy boots to present a show-stopping performance of the Rogers and Hammerstein musical “Oklahoma!”

These young thespians made the story of cowboy Curly McLain and his romance with farm girl Laurey Williams come alive with their renditions of classic tunes such as “Oh What a Beautiful Morning,” “The Surrey with the Fringe on Top,” and “People Will Say We’re in Love.”

The show was directed by Tommie Gibbons, with musical direction by Barry Wyner and choreography by Marisa Minicus. Andrea Gray was the art director and James Fanning supervised set construction. Lynbrook High School students Erica DeMichiel and Syndey Lazar acted as student directors. For a complete cast list, visit www.lynbrook.k12.ny.us.
