Former Lynbrook Village Trustee and Lynbrook firefighter Steve Grogan accepted a citation from the Village of Valley Stream during its annual Veterans Night Car Show, recognizing the ongoing work of the Nassau County Firefighters Operation Wounded Warrior.
The organization, a 501(c)(3) charity founded in 2004, provides support to wounded servicemen and women. Grogan accepted the recognition alongside NCFF-OWW Chairman Terence Powderly of the Bellerose Fire Department.
“This is Valley Stream’s seventh year that monies raised at their Veterans Night Car Show on Rockaway Avenue has gone to support NCFF-OWW,” Grogan said. “It is a 501(c)(3) charity that has been helping the wounded since 2004.”
Also attending the presentation were Valley Stream Village Trustee Sharon Daly, Village Justice Melanie Jenkins, Mayor Ed Fare, Disabled American Veterans representative George Catalonato and veteran George Schuckman.
