Waverly Park students lead annual community spring blood drive

Waverly Park Elementary School transformed its gymnasium into a life-saving hub on May 12, hosting its annual spring blood drive. Organized through the New York Blood Center’s “Little Doctors” program, the event brought community members together to replenish vital local blood supplies.

Fifth-grade student leaders took charge of the day, greeting donors, distributing snacks, and even running a supervised babysitting table so parents could donate stress-free. The hands-on project allowed students to apply their science curriculum to real-world community service.
