As summer temperatures continue to climb, the Malverne, Lakeview and West Hempstead public libraries are offering plenty of indoor activities for residents of all ages. Here are a few highlights happening through the end of August.
Celebrate summer's finale. Children can cool off during the End of Summer Celebration: Bubble Truck on Aug. 13, while teens can earn community service hours helping younger children at the library's outdoor Water Table activities throughout the month.
Stay active indoors. Adults can beat the heat while staying fit during All-Level Chair Yoga with Juliana, offered Aug. 19 and 26.
Plan your fall garden. Gardeners can get a head start on autumn planting during Pauley the Plant Man: Fall Garden on Aug. 20, complete with a chance to win a free plant.

Connect with neighbors. Weekly favorites continue throughout the month, including The Knittin Gang... We Crochet 2! and Bid Whist, offering residents a chance to socialize in the comfort of the library.

Try something new. Adults can sample cheeses during National Goat Cheese Week, practice speaking Spanish, learn iPhone basics, attend yoga or take a defensive driving course before summer ends.
Learn while giving back. Teens can decorate journals for charity, build a robotic T-Rex, wrap up the Summer Review Club or attend the invitation-only Teen Summer Wrap-Up celebration, while adults can participate in free English classes and Narcan training.
