Alzheimer’s is another great challenge, a growing public health crisis, nationally and locally. More than 7 million Americans, including over 400,000 residents of New York state and 60,000 Long Islanders, currently live with Alzheimer’s. Those numbers will continue to rise rapidly without a cure or significant disease-modifying treatment. Scientific breakthroughs are the only way to make them possible. more
But that was long ago. Over the past few decades, state aid to local education in New York has tripled, and the price per pupil in our state is now the highest in the nation, over $36,000 per year. That’s twice the national average — and about three times what Mississippi spends. more

This legislative session reflects that commitment through practical investments, reforms and measures designed to lower costs and property taxes for working families and small businesses. more
Musically, Chapin’s prowess is indisputable: In just nine years he released 12 albums, filled with songs like “Taxi,” “W.O.L.D,” “Circle,” “Sequel,” and of course, “Cat’s In the Cradle,” that cemented his legacy as a magnificent musical storyteller. more

And New York City residents shouldn’t be surprised by the Michigan result, considering that there’s a socialist mayor in City Hall. more
