The halls of the North Merrick School District were once again filled with excitement, smiles and eager students as children returned for the first day of the new school year on Sept. 1.
Teachers and staff at Camp Avenue, Old Mill Road and Harold D. Fayette elementary school welcomed students into their classrooms, helping them settle into new routines, reconnect with friends and begin the year with enthusiasm. From setting new goals to exploring their classrooms, students embraced the many opportunities that come with the start of a school year. Friends ecstatically reunited and formed new bonds as they found their assigned desks and unpacked their school materials. The first day marked the beginning of another year of learning, growth and discovery for the district’s youngest learners.
“We were thrilled to welcome our students back and see the excitement on their faces,” said Superintendent of Schools Dr. Cynthia Seniuk. “Our teachers and staff have worked hard to prepare for a wonderful year, and we look forward to all that our students will accomplish.”
The district wishes all students and families a happy, healthy and successful school year.
