Renovations are coming to Newbridge Road Park

Newbridge Road Park in Bellmore will see some big changes next spring and summer as it undergoes some extensive renovations this winter. Newbridge Road Park is maintained by the Town of Hempstead.

“We are adding a brand new splash pad right next to the pool,” Town of Hempstead Councilman Chris Carini told the Herald. Carini serves the town’s 5th district, which encompasses parts of Bellmore and Merrick.

“It is a big capital project,” Carini added. “There will also be a complete redo of the playground.”

Carini said the upgrades are possible, thanks to the town’s good finances.

“We got bond upgrades — which means we are able to get bonds at a lower rate,” he said. “We decided to add $10 million in upgrades to town parks — this is part of that capital.”

Renovations for the playground are expected to be done sometime next spring, and the splash pad will be completed in time for next summer’s pool season.
