Car horns honked and headlights glowed as residents rolled through a festive drive-thru toy collection on Dec. 13, spreading holiday cheer while supporting a Toys for Tots drive in partnership with the Town of Hempstead.
The seasonal event took place at Veterans Memorial Park in East Meadow, where community members donated toys and embraced the spirit of giving.
The invited community members from near and far to drop off new, unwrapped toys while remaining in their vehicles. Donations were collected on behalf of the U.S. Marine Corps’ Toys for Tots program, which provides holiday gifts to children in need.
In addition to toy donations, families were able to drop off letters to Santa, adding a festive touch for younger participants.
Organizers thanked residents for their generosity, noting that each donation helped spread holiday cheer to children across Long Island.
