These underwater farms grow quietly through the colder months, reaching their peak just as spring arrives, when they are harvested.

A new poll from Siena College’s Research Institute puts numbers to what New Yorkers already know. The cost of living is out of control. And this sentiment is felt across the board, with 67 percent of voters saying New York is heading in the wrong direction when it comes to affordability, including 59 percent of Democrats, 79 percent of Republicans and 71 percent of independents.

Scammers seek to prey on our emotions — by scaring us with threats of lawsuits from the IRS, trying to blackmail us for money to keep them from disclosing embarrassing information and photos, or claiming that a grandchild or a loved one is in danger and needs money fast, or else something horrible will happen.
