In cooperation with the Long Island Sound Partnership, the Town of Oyster Bay invites residents to the water for Long Island Sound Exploration Day. The event will take place on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in front of The Waterfront Center located at 1 West End Avenue, Oyster Bay. This ‘Celebration of Long Island Sound,’ also held in partnership with The Waterfront Center, New York Sea Grant, and NYSDEC, will host a schedule of events including a beach cleanup, boat rides, kayak tours, and bird walks, as well as all day activities such as fishing lessons, arts & crafts, science games, and more.
“Join us August 15th at the Long Island Sound Exploration Day for free family fun, hands-on science activities, and the opportunity to discover the beauty of our local waters,” Town Supervisor Joesph Saladino wrote in a statement. “We are grateful to our partner, the Long Island Sound Partnership, for helping inspire the next generation of environmentalists.”
