The 29-year old Oyster Bay resident made his political debut in 2022, when he beat Democrat Amanda Field and was sworn in to the Assembly at the start of the next year.

"Our community is home to a legacy of leadership, the kind that steps into the arena with conviction and doesn't back down for political expediency," Blumencranz said in a video announcement posted to X on Tuesday. "That kind of leadership is necessary now more than ever in Albany."

He earned his earned a master of science in regional urban planning and economic development at The London School of Economics and holds a dual bachelor of arts degree in public policy and religious studies from Rice University.
