Students throughout East Broadway Elementary School in the Levittown School District had the opportunity to learn about a wide range of professions during the annual Career Day on May 15 as community members shared insights into their careers.
Students were inspired to think about their futures as classrooms were visited by professionals who gave engaging presentations. Careers represented included police officers and firefighters, with special guests that included the vice president of design for Calvin Klein, the deputy editor of Newsday and a robotics coordinator.
Presenters discussed their career paths, daily responsibilities and the skills needed to succeed in their industries. The event gave students a firsthand look at careers in public service, media, law and more while encouraging curiosity, goal setting and lifelong learning. Students asked questions and gained valuable exposure to the many opportunities available to them in the future.
