Amici Gourmet Deli on Rockaway Parkway hosted an Easter event for local school children on April 5. There was a visit from the Easter Bunny and popular children's character such as Blue from Blue's Clues. One of the highlights of the event was a raffle for a giant chocolate egg.

The Valley Stream Recreation Department hosted its annual Easter egg hunt on April 7 at Hendrickson Park. After the event was rained out the previous weekend, this time there was sunny skies. Dozens of children participated in the event, and gold and silver egg finders received special prizes.
