Kennedy High School senior Max Krackow was recently named a semifinalist in the prestigious Coca-Cola Scholars program. Krackow was one of 2,100 semifinalists selected from a pool of 71,000 students.

A fast-moving storm that dumped snow at a rate of two inches per hour swept across the South Shore last night. By the time Nassau County residents were waking up on Thursday morning, more than a foot of new snow lay on the ground.
