The Twibles stood on their front stoop on June 1, staring at a sea of supporters gathered on their lawn to celebrate yet another momentous occasion in a year full of generous acts for the benefit of the East Meadow family. This time it was a renovation of Robbie Twible’s bedroom, courtesy of “NBC’s George to the Rescue,” a television show that does home improvements for people in need.

Shelby Soodek has played a big part in the Clarke Lady Rams’ softball team’s success this season, but you won’t see her name on any of the games’ stat sheets. Soodek, 20, who has autism, has been an honorary team member, joining the girls regularly for practices and cheering them on from the dugout at home games.

To understand how much W.T. Clarke senior Pavithran Ravindran enjoys science research, consider how he spent last summer. The 17-year-old’s vacation schedule closely resembled that of a full-time worker, as he boarded a 7 a.m. train each weekday morning, headed for Long Island University in Brooklyn, where he conducted research.
