In a total team effort, the Rockville Centre 12-year-old baseball team won the 2011 District 30 Williamsport Championship. This team of boys won the District as 10, 11 and 12-year-olds — quite an accomplishment. In their three-year span, the boys outscored their opponents 133 to 36.

This season, the team won its first sectional game against the South Bronx Little League in the Bronx in extra innings, by a score of 7 - 3. They lost in their next sectional game to Franklin Square by a score of 3 - 2.  The team was led by strong pitchers Tony Izzo, Casey Meekins, Kyle Shutkind and Matt Klugewicz, while all the boys swung hot bats and played errorless defense. The coaches are especially proud of all 14 boys for playing outstanding baseball and for always exhibiting sportsmanship, integrity and teamwork.
