A Christmas tradition shines again LBCS pageant celebrates the season

There was a lesson within the play, first grade teacher Cindy O'Shea said. The rehearsals helped the children to understand [Christmas] better.
The play, which had been practiced since Thanksgiving, was directed to enable the first graders to fully enjoy the experience. Everyone's role was equally important. Wearing homemade costumes, the shepherds and angels recited their 14 lines together. In lieu of obtaining a donkey or horse, Mary was seated in a wagon, which was pulled to the alter by her husband Joseph.
Perhaps one of the most memorable moments was when James Stewart appeared dressed as the little drummer boy. Costumed in red, white, and blue, Stewart beat on his drum thrilled to be one of the main players in the performance.
He knows what to do and really takes pride in being the drummer boy, O'Shea said. He's very into being patriotic.
The performances, a tradition at the Catholic School were once again a success. As in previous years, the student body attended the day performance. Watching their first grade classmates they were given the opportunity to reminisce. It wasn't hard to remember the time when they too entered the church and recreated what many Christians feel is one of the most blessed moments of the year, the birth of Jesus Christ.
