On Friday afternoon around 3 p.m., Rockville Centre firefighters, under the command of Chief John Busching, were called to a residence near Grand Avenue where the homeowner had fallen from a ladder while working in the top floor of his house. The resident suffered hip, leg and arm injuries.
The rescue was complicated by the layout of the interior stairs of the house. As a result, rescuers had to remove the injured resident from the home by removing a window and lowering him using a stokes basket, ropes and ladders. There was no word on the resident’s condition.
