Miriam Fine celebrated her 100th birthday with friends and family at Temple Am Echad (formerly Temple Emanuel) in Lynbrook on Dec. 13. Fine has been a member of the temple for more than 80 years.
Miriam was born at home in the Bronx on Dec. 13, 1914. She married William Fine on Dec. 24, 1939 and they had two daughters, Judith and Jan.
She started working as a legal secretary in 1935 for Frank A. Gulotta, former New York Supreme Court, Appellate Division Judge, and Nassau County District Attorney. Miriam lived in Newport, Rhode Island, Brooklyn and Valley Stream,
before moving to Lynbrook. Miriam was widowed in 1983 after 43 years of marriage. Miriam has three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Miriam enjoys reading.
