After Hispanic Brotherhood Girl Scout Troop 4008 presented the colors, Mistress of Ceremonies, Carol Silva of News 12 Long Island took over the microphone. She conferred awards from the Hispanic Brotherhood to six students, Jennifer Lara Hidalgo, Ingrid Loveras, Marlene Loveras, Erica Zavala, Vanessa Estevez and Rafael Nunez. Following that presentation, five individuals were honored by the Brotherhood, Bill Cunningham, Counsel to the Governor of New York state; Deborah Johnson-Schiff, Senior Vice President Administration at Winthrop University Hospital; Margaret Martinez Malito, Executive Director of the Nassau County Youth Board; Randi Schubin-Dresner, Executive Director of Island Harvest and Francisco Argiz, past board President of the Hispanic Brotherhood of Rockville Centre, and former assistant principal at South Side High School.
