The Nassau County members of the Ancient Order of Hibernians held their annual Feis & Festival on the grounds of Molloy College in Rockville Centre on Sunday. There were dancers competing for trophies and medals, pipe band competitions, children’s games, Irish soda bread and music contests and vendors selling Irish goods.
Molloy College generously hosted the feis again this year as it has for the last several years. On behalf of Molloy’s President Drew Bogner, Catherine Tully Muscente of the school’s Irish Studies Institute welcomed all to the campus.
The honoree this year was Edward Friel, a former Nassau County AOH president and state director, who together with his late uncle, John Bownes, and many other AOH and Ladies AOH members, have worked to make the annual event a success.
