Several hundred children showed up at Veteran’s Park on April 1 to search for eggs, win prizes and celebrate Easter.

The program, run by the Rockville Centre Rec Center, had eggs hidden about the park, some numbered in conjunction with prizes.

According to Anthony Brunetta, Superintendant of Parks and Recreation, the turnout was still strong despite the fact the original date was postponed because of poor weather.

“If the children vacuumed their rooms as well as they did that field, their parents would be very happy,” Brunetta said.
