A little bit of heaven in the Catskills

Posted

We arrived Friday night and checked into a beautiful room with a kitchen, living room and bedroom. Shortly thereafter we went to the dining room where we were seated with two very nice families and served a gourmet meal including the most delicious desserts you can imagine. (This is when I realized it was going to be a very fattening weekend!)
After dinner, Kaylee and I checked out the game room where a nice man taught us how to play Bocci. The game room was full of happy families laughing and playing ping-pong, shuffleboard and pool. Right next door was an arcade with everything from pinball and Ms. Packman to the latest high-tech video games.
When we 'd had enough fun and games, Kaylee headed off to the teen lounge for karaoke night and I went to the nightclub to see a wonderful singer and hilarious comedian Pat Cooper.
The next day, after a delicious breakfast (the only meal not featuring gooey desserts), we walked around the grounds which featured three outdoor swimming pools one with a waterslide and sprinklers bumperboats, a bowling alley, indoor and outdoor tennis courts, racquetball courts and the most beautiful golf course we had ever seen.
There were miles of green gorgeous land, as far as the eye could see. Villa Roma is truly a golfer 's dream. Not only do they offer wonderful clinics, but for golfers who have always dreamt of playing like a pro, private lessons were offered by PGA Pro Matt Kleiner.
As a matter of fact, Golf Digest awarded three and a half stars to Villa Roma 's 18-hole, par 72 championship course.
For those of us who never learned to golf, there 's so much more spa services like relaxing massages, foot reflexology, facials, skin care and body wraps. For the more adventurous there 's paintball and horseback riding and for those looking to get a great workout there 's a state-of-the art gym with free weights and over 25 machines.
Plus there 's always a softball game, volleyball game, or basketball game to join if the feeling hits you. And 3:30, everyday, is Bingo time.
Kids are kept busy all day in camp. With safe, fun activities like scavenger hunts, swimming, games and contests supervised by caring counselors, parents can relax knowing their children are in good hands and settle down by one of the gorgeous pools to sip exotic drinks from the pool bar.
Whether you 're looking for a romantic getaway or a family vacation, Villa Roma has it all year-round.
Summer 's fun, but winter is a wonderland. With skiing, snowmobiling, snowtubing and tobogganing, cross country skiing, snow shoeing and horse-drawn sleigh rides, there 's never a dull moment.
When you 're done playing in the snow, you can jump into the heated pool or even better hop into the Jacuzzi and let the stress drain out of your body.
So, whether you 're thinking end of summer fling or Christmas vacation think Villa Roma.
