Players and their parents assembled at the Saw Mill School and marched to Jacob Gunther School.
The first came of the day was the Atlanta Braves, sponsored by Bob and Fred Auto Body's, vs. the Blue Jays, sponsored by S&M Concrete. And according to Richard Brauner, member of the league's board of directors and a North Bellmore resident, the games were exciting to watch.
"We saw excellent plays in the field by Kara Castaldo and Kevin McCleneghan of the Braves and Matthew Spector and Meghan Leonard of the Blue Jays," he said. "There was some awesome hitting by Braves Matthew Nilsen and Danielle Preattle and Blue Jays Nah-jel Sands and Michael Laupheimer."
