A safe ride homeStudent Lifeline cards now available for Rockville Centre youth Just in time for spring, prom season and summer, Rockville Centres young adults can now have a safe ride home if they find themselves in harms way

The card can be used in a variety of situations when a student is unable to drive safely, to avoid getting into a car with an impaired driver, to leave a menacing date incident or when ones vehicle breaks down, is impounded or stolen. Lifeline pays full fare plus gratuities (15 percent) to participating taxi and limousine companies.
According to Mike Caffrey, chairman of the Student Lifeline project for the Youth Council, parents can consider sponsoring their children for $4 a card. To obtain a card, parents should use the form they received in a recent mailing from the Rockville Centre PTA. Parents who did not receive the form can email Caffrey at m.caffrey@live.com to receive an order form. Payment may be made only by check written to Student Lifeline and dropped off in a sealed envelope at the South Side High School guidance office, the Rockville Centre Public Library, St. Agnes Youth Ministry or Century 21 Sherlock Homes office, 43 N. Park Ave. A student representative will call when the cards
come in.
