Calhoun High School hosted the third annual Bellmore-Merrick Challenge last Wednesday. It's a day of fun and games for special education students.
More than 100 mainstream Calhoun senior and members of the Athletes Helping Athletes club assisted with the morning-long event, which attracted some 70 Calhoun special education students, in addition to students from the Oceanside and Seaford school districts.
Calhoun physical education teacher Heather Riddiough and special education teacher Katie Lessig organized the event. Events included foot races, the beanbag toss and the beanbag throw.
